If the mother of invention is necessity, necessity must also play parent to adaptation.  New technology can imprees--even thrill--and is often the hard-earned achievement of dedicated talent and great knowledge.  But existing technology can also amaze and reveal true ingenuity when applied beyond its original purpose.

A recent article in Healthcare Technology's online magazine highlights CT technology being used in warzones--but not the way you'd think.  As the world's battlegrounds become more complex and difficult to define, the need for a new tool has led researchers to adapt an old one.
